'FG's efforts to destroy PDP will fail,' Governor says

River state governor, Nysom Wike against the people w are trying decimate the Peoples democratic party,PDP when

He said the "deliberate efforts" by agents of the Buhari-
administration to stagnate development in his state will fail,
adding that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC)
will fall into the trap set for the PDP.
He stated this on Tuesday, October 18 while receiving the
leadership of Non-Indigenes Without Borders led by Mr Emeka
Onowu at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Rivers state
capital.
"We have a sad situation where everything is being done at the
federal level to kill the PDP. However, in the end, it is their own
political party that will die," Wike said.
He condemned the alleged repeated plots of the APC to rig the
forthcoming rerun legislative elections in the state, affirming
that they will be stopped from stealing the mandate of the
people of Rivers State.
He said: "They are repeatedly shifting the date of the rerun elections
so that they can have a convenient time to rig. Nobody should be
scared of their plan to use the DSS and police to rig the rerun
elections.
"The policeman that is carrying a gun; how many people can he kill?
In Turkey where they resisted the Army, are they not human beings?
Nobody will circumvent the mandate of the Rivers people."
According to him, the Rivers people are not surprised as they
are aware that being an opposition state, they will battle for
survival from federal powers.
Justifying his action against the operatives of the State Security
Service (SSS) at the residence of a judge on October 8, the
Governor explained that his aim was not to stop the security
officials from arresting a judge but to ensure due process was
followed.
