The seven-year-old has been in United's setup since October, playing with the development side, but has
now apparently undergone sessions at the City Football Academy.
Rooney himself has turned up to watch his lad show his skills, report the Daily Mail.
Kai has accompanied his dad on to the pitch as a mascot for both United and England, walking out alongside his old man on his 100th Three Lions appearance in November 2014.
The youngster has two brothers, Klay, three, and 10-month-old Kit. Kai is the latest in a long line of children of Premier League stars to begin their footballing career early.
