Federal High Court grants Bala Mohammed bail

Former FCT minister, Bala Mohammed who was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on October 24, on allegations of
fraud has been granted bail by th federal high court.


The  former minister’s lawyer, Chris Uche a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said that the court granted the application.

  He said: “The bail was granted this afternoon, with the same conditions in the administrative bail. He is expected to produce two sureties; who must be of the directorate cadre in the Nigerian Civil Service.

   “They are also expected to have landed properties in Abuja”

Mohammed, 58, a former senator representing Bauchi south senatorial district was the FCT minister from April 2010 till May 2015.


  According to sources in EFCC, Mohammed was allegedly involved in extensive land racketeering as a minister. “After computation of the land deals that he struck, we discovered that more than N1.6 trillion could not be accounted for,” a source
said.
